To Help Cover Tuition and Fees


To apply for a departmental scholarship to support tuition & fees, please provide the following:

  1. Unofficial transcript. Note there is no defined GPA requirement to apply, however if your major GPA is <3.0 and there are special circumstances you wish to explain this, please address this in the written essay portion of your application.

  2. Written consent for faculty to access the applicant’s financial aid and unofficial transcript.

  3. Written essay (no more than 1 page, single spaced) addressing both a.) financial need and/or specific circumstances the applicant wishes to share with the committee in pursuit of Geology courses and activities, and b.) how this award will benefit the applicant’s professional and academic goals.

  2. Written consent for faculty to access the applicant’s financial aid and unofficial transcript.

  3. Written essay (no more than 1 page, single spaced) addressing both a.) financial need and/or specific circumstances the applicant wishes to share with the committee in pursuit of Geology courses and activities, and b.) how this award will benefit the applicant’s professional and academic goals.

  4. Intended budget articulating how the funds will be used including a brief justification.
