Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP) and Grant and Contract Accounting (GCA) services are primarily administrative and compliance-focused; relieving faculty and staff of much of the administrative burden that is required for proposal submissions and award management.

Pre-Award Services
Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP) is dedicated to working with faculty and staff to increase externally-funded research, scholarly activities, and other sponsored projects.
RSP provides the following services to faculty and staff:

Identify and disseminate external funding opportunity information;

Provide assistance with proposal and budget development and preparation (such as proposal consultation, guidelines interpretation, proposal and forms review, and development/review of project budgets);

Serve as liaison on pre-submission/pre-award matters between the funding sponsor and the individual applicant;

Oversee the process for obtaining institutional approval for external support and transmitting proposals to funding sponsors.

Post-Award Services
Grant & Contract Accounting (GCA) provides accounting and financial compliance services for sponsored projects awarded to CWU. In addition, GCA oversees compliance with University policies and procedures, as well as federal and non-federal rules and regulations required by various funding agencies.
