ESL
Admissions
To Apply for our UESL Program:
Step 1 – Complete the online application
When applying to the UESL Program, you will submit an online application using the CWU online portal. Students should upload the following documents online when applying:
- Copy of passport information page
- signed Confidential Financial Statement (CFS) form
- Bank statement showing sufficient funds for attendance (minimum amount for 1 quarter $9,115; 2 quarters: $18,230).
- Copy of transcripts
Students will complete their online application by paying the one-time $50 application fee and submitting the application.
Step 2 – Complete the application interview (if requested by UESL)
After your application has been submitted, you may receive a request to join an online interview using Zoom or other appropriate video app. The purpose of the interview is to a) determine that your language level is suitable for the UESL program b) ascertain your reasons for wishing to study English at the UESL program.
Applicants from CWU’s partner universities will generally not need an interview.
Step 3 – Getting your I-20
If you are accepted to the UESL Program, you will receive information about how to activate your CWU student account and email. After your account is activated, send a message to [email protected] to let us know. We will then prepare an I-20 for you and will send it to your CWU email address.
It is very important to check your email regularly for important information from UESL and CWU. Look for emails from [email protected] and be sure to check your “spam” or “junk mail” folder in case our messages are not received.
