UESL Program Curriculum
UESL offers a program focusing on English language and academic skills for students who are already at an intermediate level* or above and who are ready to take their English to a higher level.
* In order to successfully participate in UESL courses, students should have at least an intermediate level of English. We recommend a minimum TOEIC of 500, TOEFL iBT 52, Duolingo 80, or equivalent
The UESL program includes 20 class hours per week. Classes focus on development of language and academic skills, along with promotion of cultural awareness. In addition to the many opportunities for using English offered by immersion in an English-speaking environment, students will develop their communication skills through interactions with CWU student classroom volunteers and during a weekly Conversation Corner activity with American and other international students.
