Wildcat Promise
Central Washington University is proud to be one of the best values in education, and we award over $17 million in scholarships annually. Merit scholarships recognize the academic achievements of Washington residents.
$5,000 Room & Board Scholarship
A limited number of Washington residents who file a FAFSA or WASFA will be offered a Wildcat Promise room & board scholarship: $5,000 to help pay residence hall and meal plan charges. It is renewable for up to four years.
To be considered, an applicant must:
- Be a Washington State resident
- Be a degree-seeking, first generation, first-year undergraduate
- Have a minimum 3.0 high school GPA (home school students are not eligible)
- Be eligible for the Pell Grant and/or the WA College Grant
- Have financial need
- Plan to live on campus in a residence hall* with a meal plan
CWU will continue to support you with the Wildcat Promise for up to three additional years as an undergraduate if you meet these eligibility requirements:
- Maintain a minimum cumulative CWU GPA of 2.5 or better
- Reside in a residence hall* with a meal plan during the academic year
- Have continuous enrollment in at least 12 credits per quarter
- Submit the FAFSA or WASFA by the priority date each year
- Have financial need
- Meet Federal Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards
*Residence Halls: Barto, Beck, Davies, Dugmore, Hitchcock, Kamola, Meisner, Moore, North, Quigley, Sparks, Stephens-Whitney, Sue Lombard, Wendell Hill A, Wendell Hill B, and Wilson.
Please Note:
Eligible first-year students must confirm admission by June 1 to retain the Wildcat Promise offer. Transfer students need to confirm by August 1.
The Wildcat Promise can only be applied to CWU residence hall and dining charges. If a student moves to a campus apartment, Anderson Hall, or off campus, they forfeit the scholarship.
