What are Sport Clubs?

Athletics for students, lead by students.

Sport clubs are student run, organized and lead. Sports clubs at Central are student-led organizations that provide opportunities for members to participate in various athletic activities, both competitively and recreationally. These clubs often operate independently from the university's official athletic programs, allowing students to take on leadership roles in organizing practices, competitions, and events. They offer a platform for students to pursue their passion for sports, improve their skills, and build a sense of camaraderie with fellow enthusiasts. Sports clubs foster a strong community atmosphere, encouraging teamwork, discipline, and a healthy lifestyle among participants.

Sport clubs are RSO or Registered Student Organization that report and are managed by University Recreation Sport Programs.

Active Sport Clubs

At Central, a wide array of sports clubs are available for students to join. These include popular options such as men and women's soccer, volleyball, and lacrosse, catering to those who enjoy team sports and competitive play. For those who have more of an interest in individually focused sports, CWU offers clubs for swimming, equestrian, golf, climbing, and many more. These clubs provide further opportunities for students to engage in their favorite activities. Central clubs have a sport for everyone, allowing all students to find a club that suits their interests and athletic goals.
